Lisburn House was completed in 1865 as a townhouse and is one of the finest remaining examples of Victorian architecture

This two-story Gothic-style townhouse has been preserved in original exterior condition, with decorative polychrome brickwork walls, latticework slate roof and stained glass.

The interior features a marble-floor entrance hall with sweeping carved staircase, panelled dining room, open fireplaces, tall arched windows, high ceilings, cornices and spindles.

The house, is rated by the Historic Places Trust as a "Category One" historic home. It is not only a local treasure it is also a national treasure.

An English-style garden has been developed to complement the established English trees and New Zealand native trees..Located in the suburb of Caversham which is only a 4 minute drive to the city centre and it is also with in walking distance to St Clair and St kilder beaches.  Originally built as a gentleman's residence it is now a boutique a la carte restaurant and luxury bed and breakfast.
